Do you like chocolate? Well if you are cruising on one of Norwegian Cruise Lines ships that serves the Chocoholic Buffet you should experience this special event. One of the perks of staying in a suite aboard an NCL ship is that you get to get in line before everyone else. And, the line can be quite long! Our concierge from the Norwegian Pearl, Patrick Berido, dropped off our pass during our cruise to Alaska and we were off to this late night event.
There were lots of different items to choose from. Different flavored brownies were in abundant supply. Chocolate cakes were everywhere. You could choose white chocolate, milk chocolate, and/or dark chocolates. Did someone say chocolate mousse?
Several large chocolate art creations were also on display. You couldn't eat them but they were impressive none the less.
Accompanying the chocolate art were beautiful carved ice sculptures. The accent lighting made them sparkle.
I wish I could say that everything tasted as well as it looked. Both Peg and myself agreed that the chocolate was just okay. My suggestion is to get to the event early so you can enjoy the looks of the displays before they are ravaged by little hands. Still, the Norwegian's Signature Chocoholic Buffet is an event worth staying up late for.
