Road Trip - NC Transportation Museum Train Show

We took the time to explore the grounds of the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC during the annual National Train Day Train Show. Several vintage locomotives were running the day that we were there including Southern Railway FP-3 #6133, Atlantic Coast Line E3 #501, and B&MH H-12-44 #1860.

There were tours of the current projects in the Bob Julian Roundhouse. These included repairs of the N&W 611 and Southern Railway boxcar 550555. 

A group of model train clubs and dealers had gathered in the Back Shop. It was small but nice.

The transportation also has a nice collection of cars and trucks. These are in the Flue Shop and also in the Back Shop.
