If you have almost 1 million square feet of indoor space you can hold all sorts of cool indoor race competitions. This is exactly what Motorama Events does each year at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg, PA. The complex is divided up into roughly ten areas with each holding their own event. This was the first year that we actually made it to the Go Kart races.
Usually it is so packed that you need to struggle to catch a glimpse of these fast karts as they whip around the indoor kart track. This year snow kept many of the spectators away which made it very enjoyable to watch although spending too much time in here had our eyes stinging from the exhaust. It was worth it!
Another first for us this year was watching a few rounds of Robot Conflict. Sparks were flying as the battle bots smashed and sawed each other. Some of the contestants were as animated as their creations.
A great way to introduce youngsters to the sport of racing is in a Quarter Midget race car. These mini racers are capable of speeds near 30 miles an hour. While the indoor track is too small to actually obtain those speeds it doesn't deter these young drivers from trying. This is always great family fun.
You can find some of the best RC Racing here at Motorama Events. 1/8th and 1/10th scale Buggies, Truggies, Stadium Trucks, and others battle it out on two different tracks. It so hard to watch all these fast vehicles racing around the track that the thought of racing them is a bit nutty to me. These RC drivers are just awesome!
Motorama Events is a always a great way to spend the weekend no matter what the weather is outside.
