We then boarded buses to take us to the excursion train. The dome car would be where we parked our butts for the relaxing four hour 50 mile round trip along the Hiwassee River. The train also traverses the "Hiwassee Loop" as the it corkscrews up the mountain. The train actually crosses over itself at the loop. What a fantastic adventure! We enjoyed the entire day.
