First Cruisin’ the Cone Zone of 2012

You could not have asked for better weather for the season opener at the Cone Zone in Charles Town, WV. This cruise-in happens every Friday night, from 6pm until 9pm, now through September 28. On most nights you can find a mix of modern muscle to vintage classics parked on the lot. Parking can be a bit tight at times since lot is also used for the Somerset Shopping Center. So get there early, eat some ice cream, listen to some tunes, and enjoy the night.

The Cone Zone is a good place to catch-up with friends. Our buddy Roger Mattei brought out his new toy, a 2008 Dodge Viper SRT 10, and Dale cruised in with one of his customs.

Dare to be different. This character rode in on a roadster he cobbled together from parts left from an old model T Ford. Being the first car she owned, Peg loves to see old orange Chevettes. This one with big meats out back and an engine to spin them was quite a bit more than her old rust bucket Flintstone mobile. There are many “I remember when” moments to be had at these cruise-ins.
