Santa Fe Super Chief parade train |
The small town of Newton, Iowa opened its downtown for a pre-Hot Rod Power Tour cruise-in. What really made the trip to Newton worthwhile was all the friendly people. Small towns are just so much nicer than big cities. I guess that is why I prefer being out in the country. One of the cooler vehicles to ride into town was the Santa Fe Super Chief . The Santa Fe Super Chief parade train is a custom, handcrafted vehicle created by the railroad for the "Chicago Railroad Fair" which ran the summers of 1948 and 1949. Visit
