Black Dog Coffee – Best Coffee from the Panhandle of WV

The Black Dog Coffee Company now has a retail shop located just off Rt. 9 in Shenandoah Junction, WV. We have known Brian Bircher, the owner of Black Dog Coffee, for many years and we were happy to join his crew and him to celebrate their official Grand Opening on Saturday. Brian is one of the hardest working people we have had the pleasure of knowing. The joint was definitely jumping when we stopped by.

On hand at the grand opening were several of the vendors whose products are available for sale in the coffee shop’s market area. Jo of Cocoa Jo’s Confectionary was handing out free samples. Peg made a beeline towards Jo’s display inside to take home some salted caramels. Yum!  Other vendors included Gray Fox Farm, Aunt Irene’s Sweets-n-Treats, Sister Sue’s Jams & Jellies, and several more.

Our timing could not have been any better because we were able to watch the ceremonial ribbon cutting event.  Black Dog Coffee is open for business!  The shop also houses their roaster named “Plutonius.” It’s a vintage 1931 Jabez Burns Coffee Roaster! Black Dog Coffee likes to say “our beans are so fresh you’ll want to slap them!” If you can’t stop by their store at 8001 Charles Town Rd, Shenandoah Junction, WV then you can find their coffee at many local markets. They offer free delivery to Jefferson County WV, Clarke and Winchester/Frederick Counties in VA. Or, order from them online and you won’t be disappointed.
