Spending a Saturday Morning at Sled Fest

We once again made the road trip to Duncannon, PA for Sled Fest.  This show has grown to capacity in just a few short years. It is held near the Old Sled Works which was the home to the Lightning Guider manufacturing facility. The show is opened to all pre '72 vehicles but if you want a parking spot plan on being there early. The Hooligans Car Club does a good job of parking cars to maximize the use of the small lot.

All kinds of vehicles from drivers to hot rods turn up to this show. Even I few high-end customs can often be found on the lot.

A sizable group of trucks also attend the show. I just love big fenders. Don't you?

Don't forget to shop The Old Sled Works while attending the show. This antique and craft market is located in the former Standard Novelty Works plant. The plant made Lightning Guider sleds from 1904 until 1988. You can find all sorts of neat stuff in this place.

Check out the vintage penny arcade! You can actually play the games here. The machines are all pre-Pacman.

While waiting to checkout you can catch some old shows on the vintage black and white TVs near the register. I was entertained by the Three Stooges as my wife paid for her many purchases.

Sled Fest is a great little show which keeps us coming back. Parking is tough but it is worth getting up early to enjoy the show. Check out more of our photos over on our photo site: BG Customs Photography.
