2011 Northeast Rod and Custom Car Show

Last weekend we were off to another car show assignment for MyRideisMe. The promoters for the Northeast Rod and Custom Car Show provided Peg and me media passes for our coverage. This show was a bit of a haul and it took us 3 1/2 hours to drive to the Expo Center in Oaks, PA. There were several high end vehicles that we had not seen before but many of the cars were the same ones we had seen at other PA shows. We need to get to some other states soon.

It was a nice show and we will probably do it again in the future.

The winner of the Northeast Cup was Tammy Ray. Tammy recognized Peg by her MyRideisMe T-shirt and came over to chat as we photographed her wonderful car. The car is named “Gold Digger” and has gold nugget details on the engine and wheels. Tammy is one of the nicest people you could ever meet.

I took almost 400 photos but it was tough going. It was relatively dark and my Nikon D300 set at ISO 800 was very noisy. I had to do a lot of noise reduction in Photoshop to even get halfway decent results.

Check out MyRideisMe for more photos and show coverage.

  1. I love that Bella gets a photo before the *NEW* paint on the '53! She is always a crowd pleaser!
    Thanks for the great pic!

  2. Not that I didn't try and get photos of your cars. You guys always seemed to have a crowd!

NCL Norwegian Pearl Cruise to Alaska - The Haven Courtyard

If you ever have a chance to sail to Alaska, do it! If you can save up a little more to be able to stay in The Haven Courtyard on Norwegian Cruise Lines, do it! For our anniversary Peg and I decided we would take our first cruise to Alaska. NCL sales called us, last minute, and offered us a deal to upgrade to a penthouse in The Haven Courtyard aboard the Norwegian Pearl. We did and it was fantastic! The Bird of Paradise Courtyard Suite Room 14014 (an S5 level penthouse suite) would be our home for the seven day cruise which started in Seattle, Washington.

Photos from Craig Naff's Hotrod Body Shop with Ron Covell

It's not often that you get the chance to hang out with one of the world's best hotrod metal shapers, Craig Naff. Add to that the fact that Ron Covell, a fantastic metal fabricator and instructor, would be teaching a class in Craig's shop and you have the potential for a fantastic Saturday. I made the drive over to Craig's shop on the outskirts of Woodstock, VA early in the morning using Ron Covell's Basic Metal Shaping class as an excuse to get out of the house.
