AACA Museum Hosts Exotic and Sports Car Show

The 3rd Annual Exotic and Sports Car Show to benefit Castaway Critters was held on the grounds of the AACA Museum in Hershey, PA. For just a $5 donation you could stroll the lawn beside the museum to gawk at all the exotic cars and sports cars that were there. More than 100 vehicles showed up under the cloudless Pennsylvania skies and we took many of their photos to share with you.

If you were to ask most people to write a list of what they think is an exotic car Lamborghini would probably be on top of that list. Jay Goodman’s 1988 1/2 Lamborghini Countach lit up under the bright Spring sunshine and there always seemed to be a small crowd around Ryan Warner’s 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago.

Do you like Ferraris? Hershey had plenty of them. Joe Zaffareso brought out his 1987 Ferrari Testa Rossa to play while Donald Silawsky was showing his vintage 1969 Ferrari 365 GTC.

Rounding out the decades were Tom Clark’s 1999 Ferrari 360 Modena and Dennis Kubaile’s 2004 Ferrari 575M Maranello.

Jon Walton probably had the fastest Ferrari at the show. He was driving his 2008 Ferrari 430 Scuderia.

Next up, the Porsches and there sure were plenty of them at the AACA Museum on this day. Sitting up front was Porsche’s Supercar. This 2005 Carrera GT breaks the bank at over $400K. What do you get for that? Try 0-60mph in less than 4 seconds and a top speed of 205mph!

How about an even older Porsche Supercar? Donald Silawsky allowed everyone to enjoy his 1988 Porsche 959. Only 337 of these cars were ever made! Nice.

At the Exotic and Sports Car Show there were also vintage Porsches in race trim. Steve Limbert had his 1972 Porsche 911 Carrera RS and 1970 Porsche 914-6 GT on display.

Let’s round out the Porsches with a modern racer. How would you like to take Gus Rosenberg’s 2008 Porsche 997 GT3RS for a spin around the track? Most of the time all you get to see is its backside!

Anyone want to see some cars from Lotus? We will respect our elders and start out with the older cars first like Kent Carpenter’s 1991 Lotus Esprit Turbo SE.

Then we’ll move on to the more modern Evoras. First up we have a brand spankin’ new 2013 Lotus Evora S driven by Kyle Kaulback. Next up is a bright yellow 2012 Lotus Evora S being displayed by Steve Ujvari. And our final Evora photo is of a 2012 Evora S GP Edition owned by Marshall Strait.

 

All around the AACA Museum were the very popular smaller Lotus models. Evan Ross’ drove his 2007 Lotus Exige S onto the car show field. The 2005 Lotus Elise owned by Chad Colfer was there as well.

Let’s get a little more sophisticated and take a peek at some Aston Martins shall we? There were a few on hand if that is your sort of thing. Sunr Ghosal was driving a 2007 Aston Martin DB9 while Richard Seidlitz preferred to pilot a 2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

My favorite interior of the day hands down had to go to Stan Richart’s 2011 Maserati Granturismo Convertible.

I have always loved the Audi R8s. Envy is one of the 7 deadly sins. Luckily reality set in since there was no way I was going to be able to comfortably drive Alan Kirmayer’s 2012 Audi R8.

Gull Wings anyone? Representing the Mercedes brand was Don Danagher’s 2011 Mercedes SLS. This puppy can rip off a quarter mile in 11.6 seconds.

While there were plenty of Corvettes at the car show I preferred the Vipers. Tom Fetrow had his 1993 Dodge Viper RT10 and Todd Hoover his 2002 Dodge Viper.

I was surprised to see a handful of TVRs on the show field. Lance Cole’s 1984 TVR 280i convertible, James Schopp’s 1984 TVR Tasmin 280i, and Benjamin Roth’s 1985 TVR Tasmin where all there.

The DeLoreans were rockin’ the Back-to-the-Future vibe. There were a few of these stainless steel curiosity next to the AACA Museum including Justin Mettee’s 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 “McFly” and Brent Lundgren’s 1983 DeLorean DMC-12.

Technically the Morgan Three Wheeler is a motorcycle but it is so cool I guess they let it in to the car show anyways.

And we saved the best for last. Brett Sokolow was showing his exotic high-performance Dutch super car. His 2006 Spyker C8 Spyder weighs a mere 2,750 pounds but packs a 400-horsepower 4.2-liter V8. Each car is hand built and simply beautiful.
