How about three car shows all under one roof? That’s exactly what Motorama Events does every year at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA. The shows are The Rod and Custom Show and the Tuner Show in the North Expo Hall and the Speed Show in the Main Hall.

The Rod and Custom Show always brings out the high end customs. A couple of ‘55 Chevy Bel Airs were a prime example of that. Lawrence Morris had his Blown 355 cu. in. 1955 Chevy Bel Air on display while Wes Cassel’s Grandmaster Champagne Metallic and Butterscotch Pearl painted 1955 Chevy Bel Air sparkled under the lights.

Spending Wiener Wednesday with the Top Dog Truck

If there is one food that the guys from Bubba’s Garage and I love it’s hotdogs. Most Wednesdays you can find me in front of the big orange truck known as the Top Dog Truck. This food truck serves up some of the best gourmet hotdogs in the Tysons Corner and Reston, VA area. You can check out their Twitter feed for their daily locations. While their regular dogs are great (try the bacon wrapped Sonoran Dog) I tend to go for the wacky dog of the week creations Dave the Top Dog chef whips up. Some of the goodness from the dog of the week have included a Seattle dog (Cream Cheese, grilled cabbage and onions, finished with BBQ sauce) and the Sweet Pea dog (Raspberry chipotle sauce, provolone cheese, and pea crisps). They may sound weird but they work. Try it, you’ll like it!  Don’t forget to pick up a Top Dog card. Buy 10 dogs and get your next one free!

Arenacross Racing Action at Motorama Events

So what is arenacross? Arenacross is motocross racing indoors! Every year in February I look forward to the Motorama Events Races and Shows for the arenacross action. Held at the Pennsylvania Farm Show building in Harrisburg, PA, this event draws thousands of spectators into the main arena. Both two wheeled and four wheeled riders from around the nation compete in over 2 dozen classes on both Saturday and Sunday. Up to 20 racers at a time battle the course which is about the size of a football field.

Testing New Car Models at the Washington Auto Show

There is no better place to check out new car models than at the Washington Auto Show in early February. This year Bubba’s Garage used Living Social to purchase tickets that allowed us to enter the show an hour earlier. The temperatures outside may have been in the 20s but inside it was nice and warm. You can leisurely browse all the major manufactures’ offerings with no pressure to buy and no worries about the weather.
